Occasionally called Pintade, the Guinea Fowl originated in Africa. They are a Game bird related to Pheasant, Turkey and Partridge and are kept by many farmers and Country House estates. They are quite a domesticated bird and appear to be undisturbed around people. There are many varieties of fowl as a result of cross breeding throughout the centuries.
