Reed Buntings
A lovely little bird, easily mistaken for a Sparrow until you see the markings on its face. The Reed Bunting tends to be one of the more common members of the Bunting family. They can normally be seen on damp wet ground adjacent to lakes and ponds and spend a lot of time on the ground or in the hedge bottom searching for insects and seeds. The male birds have a white collar with distinctive white stripe either side of its beak.
