Common Sandpiper
A typical wading bird, mainly seen running along the shoreline of freshwater lakes and ponds looking for food rather than probing for it in the mud. They are very similar looking to the Dunlin, The Common Sandpiper has a green/brown upper body and a white belly, inflight they have a sharp white wingbar running along their trailing edge. They have a short gray coloured straight bill and green/yellow coloured legs. They nest along the waters edge in a grass lined hollow on the ground or on a grassy bank. They have just one brood per year consisting of 4 eggs.
