One of the larger waders at Fairburn Ings, The Black Tailed Godwit has distinctive wing markings, more noticable in flight. It has a Coppery red head and neck, brown body and black baring on its flanks. It has long legs and a long straight pink bill. It appears to walk well forward of its legs.
