Greylag Goose
A direct ancestor of the domestic farmyard goose. The Greylag are usually known as Grey Geese and probably one of the most easily reconisable geese in the UK due to the fact that they were introduced into the lowland areas and today form sizable flocks, many now semi tame and living in the country all year round.
They are grazers, plucking grass and cereal shoots and dig for roots and seed grain.
They have a large orange bill, pink legs and a dark grey plumage.
