Blackbirds
One of the country's most easily recognised birds. It is one also where the male and female are primarily different colours! The black male birds have a bright orange/yellow bill and a large black body. The females on the other hand are brown and can sometimes partially resemble a Thrush. They have dark streaks on their throat and a mottled or dark spotted belly,
They are a regular garden visitor and play a significant part in the Spring Dawn Chorus.
