A small, lively, sociable finch. The Linnets tend to breed in small colonies and feed in flocks throughout the year. They are primarily ground feeders and prefer seeding plants. This was the first time I had seen Linnets at the RSPB reserve at Fairburn Ings, in North Yorkshire.
