Canada Goose
A large goose with a very distinctive black head and a white chin strap. A familiar bird found on many reserves and estuary's throughout the year. They tend to be extremely vocal with their loud, honking type call. Originally they come from North America as an ornamental bird. Today they have become quite a sociable bird and can often be seen strutting about in Clifford Tower Car Park in York! They can be quite a messy bird leaving large amounts of debris around as any visitor to the Castle Museum will verify.
