Canon Hall Farm

Canon Hall Farm is situated just five miles west of Barnsley, on the A635, ten minutes from junction 37 of the M1 motorway in South Yorkshire. 

This family run farm opened to the public in 1989 and has continued to develop ever since, today it has recently been awarded the best family day out in Yorkshire after being named the Best Large Visitor Attraction in the White Rose Awards.

The farm is also showcased through the Channel 5 TV show Springtime on the Farm.

There is lots to see around the site including a Reptile House, Mammal House, The Farmyard consisting of seven large barns housing a wide selection of animals including many rare breeds. A viewing platform runs around the inside of the building on three sides which gives easy viewing access to the animals below and is wheelchair and pushchair friendly. 

Daily talks take place around the farm about the animals as well as live video feeds about the animals and are particularly interesting in the Springtime when lots of the animals are being born.

There are several outdoor play areas for children around the site as well as ‘The Hungry Llama’ a 350-seat restaurant and indoor play area, one of the biggest and best in the region, with nine dramatic slides designed to entertain the most adventurous children.

There is also a well-stocked farm shop, a ‘White Bull Restaurant’ which serves a wide range of hot and cold homemade food and the ‘Lucky Pup’ dog friendly café.
