Fallow Deer
Fallow Deer are today widespread throughout the United Kingdom. They were introduced to this country by the Normans nearly a thousand years ago.
These Fallows were part of a huge herd mixed with Sika deer on the Knole Park estate in Sevenoaks in Kent.
The Fallow Deer are smaller than Red Deer and have a reddish brown coat in the summer months, with light whitish coloured spots, come the onset of winter their coat becomes thicker and more grayer and the spots tend to blend in with the coat.
The Fallow Deer are quite social animals and can live in large herds, though more typically found in smaller single sexed groups.
