The Guillemot is one of the most popular breeding seabirds. It nests on tiny ledges on cliff faces. It is predominantly black and white in colour, with a long slim body, a black neck and head and a pointed bill.  These birds swim off shore in huge numbers under the cliff face. They tend to fly low and extremely fast and when searching for food dive from the surface of the water.
