Burton Agnes Hall
Burton Agnes Hall was built between 1598 and 1610 for Sir Henry Griffith and has been open to the public since 1977. It is the home of the Cunliffe Lister family. The house is full of treasures collected by the family over the centuries. The gardens are beautiful with an Elizabethan walled garden full of thousands of different species of plants. The Courtyard houses a cafeteria, gift shop and plant centre as well as an artist studio. The House and Gardens are open from the end of March. The Hall is situated on the A166 approximately 5 miles SW of Bridlington.
With the advent of Spring, from the beginning of February to early March the woodland walk becomes awash with snowdrops forming a huge white blanket on the ground. The trail runs amongst the trees and gives fantastic vistas of the snowdrops, Throughout the year there is a full and varied programme of events. During early Spring in the Elizabethan Hall there is a magnificent Orchid display.
