One of the highlights of this safari was watching this Cheetah laying with its cub on top of a turmite mound in the Masai Mara. A pretty big cat and the world's fastest runner being able to reaching speeds of upto 70 mph. The Cheetah has a long sleek body and a small head, it has semiretractable claws which aids its sprinting. Unlike other members of the cat family they feed soley on fresh meat. They are expert hunters keeping low to the ground, creeping up on their pray before opening up into a frantic chase for the kill. There are an estimated 50 Cheetah's that stalk the plains of the Masai Mara.
