Olive Baboon
The Baboon is the largest of all the primates in Kenya, weighing about 99lb. It is relatively easy to recognise with its inverted u shaped tail and dog like head. They live in large groups called troops, with a dominant male keeping control over them all. Baboons tend to stay clear of people and have been known to become quite aggressive around lodges especially when visitors have left food out for them.
We watched many of them on the trail road in Lake Nakuru and later in the Masai Mara.
