Thompson Gazelle
A comon Antelope found on the Masai Mara plains, named after the explorer John Thompson who first saw the species in Kenya in 1883. They live in harem type herds with one dominant male and between 6-60 females. They feed primarily on the grass lands though occasionally will try bushes and trees. They drink daily but can go for long periods without water.
They have a lovely tan coloured coat, with a white belly and a bold black horizontal patch on its flank. They are extremely fast and graceful when they move.
