Waterbuck
The largest and most distinctive member of the Antelope family. They are easily recognised by their dark grey brown shaggy coat. The males have large lyre shaped horns with white ears and black tips. Facial markings are limited to a white stripe extending from the eye brow along the side of the muzzle to just below the eye and a white patch around the nazal area and lips. On the rump is a large white cresent shape.
They tend to inhabit woodlands close to water, we had several close to our chalet when we we stayed at Lake Naivasha. They feed on grasses and herbs and ocassionally will eat the foilage of bushes and trees.
