Masai Children
The Masai children where amazing. Considering their lifstyle compared to that of Western Europe. Their houses were extremely basic, no running water, electricity or toilet. Single storey mud huts with no windows other than an open doorway which provided minimal light into the property, which they also shared with the family goat or young cattle.
They were happy, inquisitive and had quite an indepth knowledge of football, especially the English Premier League, which gave us all a common interest for conversation. They attended Primary school from the age of 5 years - 13 years when they leave to go to High school. Whilst in the Mara we visited a small Primary school, and an interesting fact to note was that by the time the children reached 13 years of age they could read and write in English as well as their native language with just the basic resourses and facilities, certainly no white boards or computers.
