Since its construction in 1931 the Empire State Building has become quite an iconic building in both America and come to it, around the world. For a building which has been described as architectural ‘low key’ it attracts an awful lot of attention. King Kong has climbed it, a B.52 Bomber collided with it, daredevils have parachuted off it and to top them all, lightning strikes the building an average 100 times every year.

Just under four million people visit the building every year. On a clear day there are some stunning views from the top of the building.
