Switzerland and Italy 2010
June 2010 and our first visit to Lake Geneva and Lake Como with ‘Titan Travel’
We drove down from Yorkshire the night before our flight staying in a hotel at Heathrow. Our taxi collected us from our hotel the following morning and took us to the new Terminal 5 building. It is estimated that, although opened in March 2008 it will be able to handle 30 million passengers a year, taking Heathrow’s total number of passengers to around 90 million. We successfully negotiated our way through the check in desks etc and boarded our 10.15am flight to Geneva, Switzerland, without any problem. This was a ten day holiday stopping in Montreux, Geneva, for several days before catching the Glacier Express in Brig for a 7 hour journey to St Moritz. After an overnight stay and a look around this lovely small town we drove to Menaggio on the banks of Lake Como for the rest of our holiday. Some beautiful scenery, unfortunately the low mist on the mountains prevented any scenic pictures, but there were lots of lovely villages, gardens and houses to make up for it.
