Around Florence
Much of Florence was rebuilt during the Renaissance but the eastern part of the city especially around the Duomo has retained a medieval feel with its tiny alleyways and small narrow streets. The architecture is one of the most striking features about this part of Florence, there are plenty of small markets selling a wide range of goods including high quality leather jackets and alongside them are stalls selling fruit and vegetables and fish. The Duomo dominates the area along with the Basilica.
