This was my first visit to Rome. We had often talked about having a look around this beautiful city when we stay in Sorrento but the cost of a day trip from Sorrento was astronomical, on top of which as we were to find out in 2013 you need more than a day to look around Rome. We actually stayed here for 3 nights as part of a tour which also included Venice, Florence and Rome, an excellent 10 day holiday with the tour company Titan Travel. As nice as Rome was I was not prepared for the grandeur of the buildings, so many places to visit in such a short time and the tourists.

Our next visit will be at least a week’s holiday in this fine city to give me enough time to get the right photographs and to see all the places we missed on this short trip.
